Islamabad: A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Friday accepted Sheikh Rasheed’s petition to become party in ephedrine quota case.
During the hearing of the case, Rasheed claimed he has more information about the two companies involved in this case.
Ministry of Narcotics Control Secretary Zafar Abbas Luk, who is also an accused in the case, alleged that the ANF officials are mutinous and lying in the case. They do not follow rules and orders.
He alleged that the ANF traps people by hiding heroine in their luggage or vehicle. Tomorrow they can do the same with the prime minister.
The bench annoyed over the secretary’s behaviour and said he could be jailed.
Earlier, Â Rasheed while talking to the media said that the legal quota for these companies is only 330g each of the banned chemicals used, whereas, he claims they have been allotted 12kg quota each.
He also claimed that these companies, in addition to ephedrine, have been given quota for other banned chemicals including Prazolam, Buprine, Tramadol and Pantazol.
The prime minister’s younger son, Ali Musa Gilani as an accused in the illegal allocation of import quotas of the drug among National Assembly member Mian Abdus Sattar and his colleague, Anjum Shah, Drug Controller Sheikh Ansar as well as the Deputy Drug Controller, Abdus Sattar Suhrani.
