Karachi: Around 38 gangs of female dacoits are active in the limits of six police stations falling in District South of Karachi, the country’s commercial capital, sources said on Friday.
The members of these gangs operating in Defence, Clifton, Darakshan, Gizri, Boat Basin and Frere areas first get themselves employed as maids in bungalows and then commit dacoities there.
The sources told this scribe that after committing crimes they flee to their native areas. However, after a few months they go to other areas for the same purpose. They are involved in 42 dacoities during the last 13 months in the area.
According to a report of In-charge SIT Division Inspector Munir Chandio, out of total 42 dacoities, 14 were committed in defence, 11 in Clifton, eight in Darakshan, four in Frere and three in Boat Basin.
