New Delhi: Pakistan and India reiterated on Thursday they hoped to enhance trade relations and boost peace prospects at the largest Pakistani commercial fair ever held in India.
Indian Commerce Minister Anand Sharma observed that there was no other option left for both the countries but good trade ties. He added that both India and Pakistan had to recognise their trade potential.
The opening of the fair held a few days after President Asif Ali Zardari made a trip to India where he met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
More than 650 business people are representing Pakistan in New Delhi. The show underscored hopes voiced by India and Pakistan that better economic relation between the two countries can help establishing peace in the region.
Pakistan Commerce Secretary Zafar Mahmood said that a lot of movement was observed last year and the normalisation was going very fast.
Different products from Pakistan are being showcased in the fair, including jewellery, furniture, clothes and food products.
