Islamabad: The efforts by the government to save Ali Musa Gilani from clutches of law are underway as Zafar Abbas, acting secretary anti-narcotics, resorted to reshuffles in the army-led Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Thursday.
According to media reports, Abbas replaced ANF Director Heaquarters Brigadier Mehmood Akhtar with a civilian officer Marwat Shah.
The reports said Marwat Shah was brought from police services. The orders of transfers have been conveyed to the Supreme Court registrar.
Political analysts are of the opinion that ephedrine case also involving premier ’s on and his principal secretary Khushnud Lashari has once again caused cracks in civil-military relations after the prime minister went on to remove ANF chief Major General Syed Shkail Hussain.
They said that the prime minister is angry over the ANF for its committee to take the ephedrine case, an scandal of Rs 7 billion, to a logical end.
