Karachi: Around 312,000 students are likely to appear in the secondary school certificate annual exams beginning on April 5 (today), the Board of Secondary Education Karachi has declared about 30 per cent examination centers sensitive in the wake of the city`s law and order situation.
BSEK chairman and controller Prof M. Saeed Siddiqui and Rafia Mallah, who would be managing the annual board exams for the first time since their posting in the board last year in December and July, respectively, sounded confident that the entire process of examination would be conducted in a transparent, impartial and peaceful manner.
A total of 162,000 boys and 149,200 girls have been registered with the board.
Ms Mallah said that there were pressures for change of centres from various schools on different grounds, but she was not allowing shifting of candidates from one centre to another.
“Considering city`s ethnic mapping, I have planned the centres in a way that no student will find any difficulty in taking exams according to the board plan,” she said.
