Lahore: Justice Mazhar Iqbal of the Lahore High Court has taken notice on reports about supply of drugs and liquor inside prisons and supply of young women detainees outside the detention facilities of Punjab with complicity of jail officials.
The court took the notice over the report during hearing of petitions over exoneration of former DIG Malik Iqbal and other officers in Sialkot Jail incident 2003, in which judges were also killed.
Superintendent Sialkot Jail told the court that such incidents took place with complicity of jail officials.
Justice Mazhar Iqbal remarked that several such cases were pending in the courts. The court put off the hearing to Thursday.
