Washington: United States (US) State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nuland said that US was not considering to impose sanctions on Pakistan regarding the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project, media reported on Wednesday.
Giving a press briefing at US State Department, Nuland said that talks regarding the Pak-Iran pipeline were held with Pakistani authorities on several occasions adding that the US informed the authorities that Iran could not be trusted.
“US wants to help Pakistan in energy sector,” the spokesperson added.
Nuland said that talks regarding the restoration of Nato supply was going on with Pakistani officials adding that high US officials were not expected to visit Pakistan in recent days.
