Washington: Top US military commander General James Mattis said that he would travel to Pakistan in about 10 days to hold talks with Pakistani leadership about reopening ground supply routes that had been closed since late November, media reported on Monday.
According to media reports, Commander of US Central Command, Mattis told senate Armed Services committee that the US needed supply routes in order to facilitate the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.
Pakistan has refused any US military visits since the airstrikes on Sallala check post, which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers. Pakistani parliament was also working out new guidelines to define the US-Pakistan alliance. Â
