Karachi: Poltical parties leaders and civil society condemned the attack on Geo News satellite van,in Nawabshah, on Thursday.
MQM Chief Altaf Hussain , PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, PTI Chief Imran Khan , ANP President Asfand Yar Wali, JUI-F Chief Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, Ameer JI Syed Munawar Hassan and PML-Q ‘s President of Khyber Pakhtunkua Ameer Mukam condemned the attack on country’s leading TV channel’s vehicle and termed it an attack on freedom of speech.
They demanded of the government to take serious action against the culprits.
According to a Geo News report , Unknown miscreants in Nawabshah, hometown of PPP cochairman and President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, tried to destroy the channel’s satellite van by setting it ablaze.
It said the miscreants burnt the satellite van while the driver and engineer sustained burn injuries while extinguishing the fire.
Police did not reach the spot even after the incident was timely reported.
It is to mention here that the PPP government has been boycotting the channel due to its extensive coverage of ruling party’s alleged corruption.
