Islamabad: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the opposition has no trust in government as it has history of backtracking.
Talking to media outside the Parliament House on Thursday, Nisar harshly criticized Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani for his backtracking from his earlier remarks against the military leadership. There should be no confrontation within state institutions but, there should also not be “give in take.
Nisar warned that PML-N will not become part of any constitutional amendment. He said that the Parliamentary Committee on National Security was not an alternate for the Parliament and the committee could only present recommendations.
The opposition leader said the government should come up with its own security policy. He added that Gilani should think before speaking as he retracted his statements in the past. Replying a query said the Election Commission was a national institution and all the parties should play their role in the reconstitution of the commission. He said tenure or EC commissioner under 18 amended was five years.
He said the opposition did not trust in government over transparent election.
