Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said that the government was focusing on development of energy sector, as energy was vital for sustainable economic growth.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, the prime minister said that prudent and viable economic policies had led to reduction in inflation in the country.
He said it was wrong perception that had a begging bowl, adding that the government had not taken loan from International Monetary Fund (IMF) since 2010.
The PM said that Gross Domestic Product’s (GDP) growth was expected to be 4 percent in the ongoing fiscal year. “The country is moving in the right direction to improve economy,” he added.
Gilani said that his government had injected 3500 megawatt additional electricity in the national grid.
