Islamabad: The Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) on Tuesday finalized its recommendations regarding new terms of engagement with US and NATO and Pakistan’s foreign policy.
The committee, which met here with Senator Raza Rabbani in the chair, deliberated in details over the draft of the recommendations earlier approved by a sub committee of PCNS regarding new rules of engagements with US and NATO.
After thoroughly examining the draft recommendations, the committee finalized a set of 35 recommendations, which will be sent to Parliament for approval.
Talking to media, chairman of the committee Raza Rabbani said that the final recommendation would be sent to Speaker National Assembly with the request to place the same before the parliament.
He said that a joint sitting of parliament would discuss and approve the recommendations finalized by the PCNS. He said that the committee had extensive interaction and consultations with the officials and ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs. Regarding the recommendations he said that these were related to new terms of engagements with US and NATO with respect to the ongoing war on terror, besides policy and general guidelines regarding Pakistan foreign policy.
