Islamabad: Pakistan on Friday has rejected the assertion made by Indian government that entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.
Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit, in response to a question pertaining to Indian Ministry of External Affairs’ statement of January 4, 2012 regarding depicting of map of India on the Web site of US State Department, the spokesman said that the government of Pakistan has rejected the Indian assertion on State of Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India.
The spokesman said that the correct position, as established by the United Nations in accordance with its relevant resolutions, is that the State of Jammu & Kashmir is a disputed territory, the final status of which is yet to be determined.
