Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday resumed hearing presidential reference, seeking revisit of Z.A Bhutto case.
A nine-member bench of the apex court was hearing the case. During the hearing justice ret Tariq Mehboob, one of the amicus curiae of the court in the case, apologized to continue assisting the court, saying questions were raised about his personality, citing Ahmed Raza Kasuri’s reply to the SC in which he said court’s amicus curiae may be friends of the court but not the complainant (Ahmed Raza Kasuri).
The court asked Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan to continue assisting the court as amicus curiae. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry asked federation’s counsel Babar Awan to present any instance of reopening of already decided case.
Citing a case in India, Awan contended that a case could be reopened if judges’ prejudice had proved.
