Jamshoro: Election for membership among Sindh University teachers on Senate and Academic Council is scheduled to be held on January 10.
Election will be held on 12 reserved seats for Sindh University teachers on Senate and Two reserved seats for Associate professors and Four seats reserved for Assistant Professors and Lecturers among the
teachers on Academic Council.
The election will be held at Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah Administration Building (Ac-II) of the University from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm. The Registrar of the University Akhtar Ahmed Memon will act as
Election Officer while Assistant Registrar of General Branch Muhammad Bux Leghary and Ali Akbar Jalbai will act as Assistant Returning Officers.
To facilitate the University teachers one point bus will be plied from Faculty of Arts building via all teaching institutes and department of the Campus to Administration building while one point
bus will ply from Faculty of Education to Jamshoro at 9.45 am.
Earlier, Mr. Wang Jianzhong Vice Director Zibo Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Zibo, Shandong China visited the University of Sindh and meet with Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr. Nazir A.Mughal on Friday.
The pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah and other officials were also present on the occasion.
The Vice Chancellor during the meeting briefed Mr. Wang Jianzhong about the academic and research programs, enrolment of students, procedure of admissions and also facilities for the students and
research scholars at the Campus. He informed that the University has already setup three campuses at
Badin, Mirpurkhas and Dadu while work on opening of two more campuses at Larkana and Thatta is under process.
Mr. Wang appreciated academic programs of the University and underlined the need of research on social issues of the community. He said that research always played vital role in society development.
Mr. Wang also visited the Sindhology Museum, various galleries and research library of the Institute of Sindhology.
