PTI rally in Karachi – Live Blog

Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rally is expecting more than 200,000 crowed in today’s (Sunday) Karachi event.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi says, Karachi is Alive. “Today’s rally was organised to unite to people of Karachi,” he said.

“PM Gilani’s own corruption is conspiring against democracy,” he said. “Pakistan has internal threats.”

“Pakistan’s nuclear program is in safe hands and it has five layers security system,” he said. He added that president Zardari is the only threat to Pakistan nuclear program.

PTI leader Javed Hashmi says rulers started looting Pakistan just after the creation of the country. “PTI will bring justice in the country,” he says.

“I am a Bagi, I am Bagi, I am Bagi’, he said. He added Imran have to become ‘Bagi’.

When Hashmi arrived at the dice to address the crowed, the PTI workers chanted slogan ‘Aik Bahadur Admi Hashmi, Hashmi..’

Earlier, Waleed Iqbal, grandson of Allama Iqbal said that no other political force other than  PTI can bring the change. “tsunami can create electricity, extract reserves, can start up shutdown railway engines and make grounded PIA planes fly,” he said.

The rally started with the recitation of the Quran, followed by Naat read by Abrarul haq, while the national anthem was also played after the arrival of the party chief.

All the arrangements for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public meeting at Bagh-e-Quaid, adjacent to the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, have been finalised.

PTI workers are reaching the venue in small and medium groups. The PTI has arranged 35 shuttle services to pick and drop people to the venue.

The PTI has claimed that about 60,000 chairs have been placed in the ground, which is said to have a total capacity of 200,000.

PTI chief Imran Khan, late Saturday night, visited the venue to make sure arrangements were up to his satisfaction.
