Karachi: SM. Munir, President, Indo – Pak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, former President, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) welcomed the six-member Indian delegation, which comprises five students and a team leader, is in Pakistan on a 10-day exchange programme as part of a peace initiative taken by the Rotary Club and Aman Ki Asha.
He told the students that we have many things in common, history, tradition etc. He said India and Pakistan together can do wonders. SM. Munir informed the students that approximately 42 million people are living below poverty line. Trade through land route via Waga will provide enough opportunities. He also appreciated the efforts of Rotary Club and Aman Ki Asha for bringing the students of two countries close to each other.
Prakash Bhagat, the team leader of the Indian delegation said that People-to-people contact is crucial for improving the relationship and this is just the beginning.
Students from India shared their views and told that we do not see any difference. We have similar traditions, same clothes and we are one family. People of both countries come and see picture with their own eyes rather than image created by other. They also admired the hospitality of the people of Pakistan and said that people here are very loving and their hospitality cannot be compare. The students from India also said that trade is the way of promoting our relations. We should enhance our business with each other.
A group of Pakistani students also welcomed the Indian students. They said that when both countries would have good friendship, the poverty will ultimately reduce from our countries. There are no issues that cannot be solved with our friendship.
