Lahore: At least 10 students were injured as clash erupted between two student organizations, spreading panic among the students.
Sources said that the clash took place between Islami Jammiat Talaba Pakistan (IJT) and Imamia Students Organization (ISO).
The sources said that the campus turned into battle field when rivals pelted each other with stones. They said that the varsity was reverberating with gunfire as some of the students holding TT pistols in their hands were shown on TV screens.
Heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.
Ahmed Shaheen, IJT spokesman, said the clash took place when ISO students chanted slogans against IJT during a procession. He said that at least three of their sustained injuries.
An ISO official said one of their students sustained severe injuries and was in critical condition at a local hospital.
