Islamabad: A fresh survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan has revealed thatmost (37%) of those who buy grocery on credit cite their low income and poverty as key reason; 4% cite delayed release of monthly salaries.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “If you buy things on credit, then why do you do so?”
Responding to this 31% claim that they buy things on credit because of low income, 4% claim that they do so because of economic need, 2% claim poverty to be the reason behind credit shopping and another 4% claim that the delayed release of salary is the reason. Whereas 48% claim that they do not buy things on credit that frequently. However 11% gave miscellaneous reasons or did not give a view.
