Mirpur: Pakistan were all out for 470 in their first innings in reply to Bangladesh’s 338 before tea on the penultimate day of the second and final Test in Dhaka at Shere Bangla Stadium here on Tuesday.
Opener Taufiq Umer made his seventh test century and provided great start to the hosts while all the middle order batsmen share their part. Veteran Younus Khan fail to make fifty and out on 49 runs. Captain Misbah-ul-Haq and wicket keeper Adnan Akmal made 70 and 53, respectively while Asad Shafiq scored 42 runs.
Pakistan lead 1-0 in the series after winning the first Test by an innings and 184 runs.
Shakib Al Hasan continued his fine all-round display by claiming six for 82 as Bangladesh dismissed Pakistan in the second Test, although not before the tourists had established a 132-run first-innings lead in Mirpur.
The 24-year-old, who scored 144 in the hosts’ total of 338, took the key wicket of Misbah-ul-Haq when the Pakistan captain was looking good on 70, and went on to clean up the tail in the afternoon session on day four. Adnan Akmal was the last man to go, for 53, as Pakistan were bowled out for 470.
