Peshawar: At least three security personnel have been killed in landmine explosion in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region, sources said on Saturday.
The sources said that the incident took place in Kurram Agency. They said that a security forces vehicle was targeted when it was on routine patrolling. The dead were shifted to a nearby hospital. Heavy contingent of forces rushed to the spot and launched a search operation following the incident.
Pakistani security forces have been battling a TTP-led insurgency in the area. At least 35,000 citizens and security personnel have been killed so far during the nation’s efforts in curbing terrorism and extremism.
