Peshawar: Twin baby boys were allegedly swapped with and twin girls, shortly after they born at a government-run health facility, Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.
According to a private TV Channel’s report, two women separately gave birth to two twin baby boys and baby girls.
A local resident has claimed that her sister gave birth to twin boys but the Lady Reading Hospital labour-room management swapped the baby boys with baby girls.
Hamid Khan told media that he was informed that he had become maternal uncle of twin baby boys, but when he came to the labour room the baby boys turned into baby girls.
He also alleged that his sister saw her twin sons herself and they were changed after someone switched off the gynae ward’s lights.
A TV channel said that the ultrasounds performed prior to the birth had confirmed the woman was pregnant with two male babies.
Medical Superintendent Lady Reading Hospital rejected any such possibility of swapping babies. However, he said investigation would be carried out into the claims of the family.
