Kuwait City: The Amir of Kuwait dissolved the country’s parliament again on Tuesday.
Under Kuwaiti law, dissolving parliament requires a decree from Amir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who has dissolved the house on three occasions since May 2006.
Last week, the ruler accepted the resignation of former prime minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, a senior member of the ruling family, and named defence minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Sabah as the new premier.
