Islamabad: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that terrorists might attack Ashura procession on 10th Muharram in Karachi.
While talking to media on Monday, the minister said that there was information regarding the potential terror attack in Karachi.
He said that additional contingent of forces had been deployed in the city. Malik said that several districts in the country, including 31 in Punjab, 20 in Sindh, 10 in KPK and 15 districts in Balochistan were declared sensitive in the wake of Muharram.
He said that Ashura blast in Karachi was carried out by Jundullah not by the TTP. Replying a query he said that Mansoor Ijaz hatched a conspiracy against Pakistan and the US should take action against him,
He said that he would support Nawaz Sharif if he moved the Supreme Court against Mansoor Ijaz. To another question the interior minister said that his ministry had not yet received SC orders on putting Hussain Haqqani’s name on Exit Control List (ECL). He said that court orders would be implemented in this regard if the ministry received orders.
Malik said according to his information Hussain Haqqani didn’t want to leave Pakistan. He said that Mansoor Ijaz’s allegation regarding May 2 US raid in Abbottabad was false.
