Islamabad: Reacting over the Supreme Court orders, Pakistan’s former ambassador to the US Hussain Haqqani has said he has no plans of leaving Pakistan.
The SC on Thursday during the hearing of petitions into memo scandal ordered that Haqqani’s name be put on Exit Control List (ECL).
Haqqani said that he didn’t want to leave Pakistan as no palaces in Saudi Arabia were waiting for him, a direct reference to PML-N leadership who opted to leave country after striking a deal with then military ruler.
He said he would not leave the country unless the investigation into the scandal was completed.
Haqqani said that he resigned due to media trial on the basis of allegations levelled against him by an inidvial-Mansoor Ijaz, a Pakistani-American.
