Islamabad: Chairman Awami Muslim League (AMI) and Former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed has decided to join Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) but would take some time announce his final decision, sources claimed on Tuesday.
The sources said that, Rasheed, who defected to former military ruler Pervez Mushaarraf after military coup in 1999, wanted to take some time to announce his joining the PTI. The former member of the National Assembly informally parted his ways with the PML-Q and formed his own party named Awami Muslim League.
The sources claimed that Khursheed Kasuri, Marvi Memon, Hamid Nasir Chatta, Awais Lagari, Gohar Ayub and some other heavy weights were also in contact with Imran Khan to join his party.
Former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had also announced to join Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during Ghotki public gathering on Sunday.
Qureshi’s announcement was no longer a surprise for the people of Pakistan as The News Tribe disclosed his plan of joining the PTI on November 9.
