New York: Pakistan has lodged strong protest with United Nations Security Council’s president over the NATO/ISAF raid in Mohmand tribal region that killed 28 Pakistani soldiers.
Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN, Abdullah Hussain Haroon, in a letter to the UNSC president urged him to condemn and protest with the US and NATO over the incursion inside Pakistan that killed over two dozen Pakistani Army men.
He urged the UNSC to get Pakistan’s Shamsi airbase vacated from US troops. In his letter, the representative to US apprised the UNSC of the decision of Pakistani’s cabinet committee on defence. The committee has asked US to vacate the Shamsi airbase and ordered suspension of NATO supplies.
