Islamabad: The recently released report by the UN Human Development Index (HDI) on 187 countries shows Pakistan at the 145th position among 187 countries.
The report was presented during a ceremony in a local hotel at Islamabad.
According to the report, Australia, Norway and Holland are among the top countries whereas Congo, Nigeria, Bronidi were listed at the last.
The report further shows that, poverty level in Pakistan stand at 53.4 while in India and Bangladesh is 52.7 and 50.4 respectively
Around 22.6 percent population in Pakistan, 41.6 in India and 49.6 Bangladesh was living below the poverty line.
Report focused on the increasing tendency of environmental changes and suggested it might creates several problems in the development of poor countries.
Report warned that the worsening situation of environment may effect the economic development of region, especially Pakistan and Bangladesh. It said that the two countries mainly effected by the air pollution.
