Lahore: The nurses of Punjab have called off their protest for one month after successful negotiations with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Saturday.
The nurses haveĀ been protesting across Punjab for the last three days demanding increase in their salaries.
The Punjab government and nurses agreed to make a committee for solution of the problem. The report will be submitted within 30 days.
A meeting was held at the Chief Minister Secretariat under the chairmanship of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. Chairman Parliamentary Committee for Health Dr Saeed Elahi, advisor to chief minister Begum Zakia Shahnawaz, secretary health and a delegation of protesting nurses attended the meeting.
The law minister also ordered to cancel all the cases against nurses and directed the secretary health for not taking any action against nurses for staging protest.
