Pakistan Dera Ismail Khan: The militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) stormed a police station in Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday, killing two officers and injuring four others in what appeared to be negation of Pakistan-militant peace talks as media reports claimed recently.
Sources said that militants armed with rockets and grenades attacked a local police station before dawn on Wednesday.
According to police, there were around 10-12 militants, who came in vehicles and used grenades, rockets and other sophisticated weapons during the attack.
Police said that the assailants were speaking Persian during the assault.
The dead and injured were shifted to district headquarter hospital.
Meanwhile, The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the attack. A spokesman for the banned outfit   said that the attack was a proof of the fact that the militants were not holding talks with the Pakistani authorities.
