London: London Police Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe has confirmed that two suspects have been arrested in Pakistan for their alleged involvement in the assassination of former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Imran Farooq.
Talking to media here on Friday, he said that the killers would not be allowed roaming freely on London’s streets. He said that Pakistan and UK would make joint efforts in bringing the culprits to justice.
Farooq was stabbed to death outside his residence in London on September 16, 2010.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik had denied the reports regarding arrest of two people in connection with the Farooq’s murder.
Earlier, in August the media reports had claimed that two suspects were arrested in Karachi after joint efforts by Scotland Yard and Pakistani security agencies while MQM later rejected all the media reports.
