Karachi: Rukhman Gul Palari, lecturer at the Department of Sindh in University of Karachi, has refused to takeĀ P.hd degree from Vice Chancellor Dr. Pirzada Qasim as protest overĀ issuing a doctorate degree to Federal Minister Rehman Malik.
In a meeting of Karachi University Teachers Society (Kuts) on Thursday, Palari refused to take degree from Dr Siddiqui and saidĀ that the Vice Chancellor was his teacher and he respect him but his conscience did not allow him to take this award.
All the teachers, who were present in the hall, appreciated the decision.
Later, while talking to this correspondent, Palari said that he was not ashamed on his decision and if the university fires him on this decision he would never feel regretted.
Rukhman Palari has a good career record at the Karachi University as he got threeĀ awards by the university on doing excell.
Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik was conferred an honorary doctorate degree by theĀ University of KarachiĀ (KU) at Governor House on October 11.
