Nawshehro Feroze: The widow of the jobless youth from Nawshehro Feroze, who committed self-immolation outside the Parliament House on Monday, gave birth to a son when the body of his unfortunate husband was being lowered to the grave.
Najma, the wife of deceased Raja Khan Rind, 22, gave birth a male child on Tuesday. Following the birth of the child, Rind’s family is in a fix whether to celebrate the birth of the minor or mourn the tragic death of his father.
Rind from Nauwshahro Feroze district of Sindh on Monday committed self-immolation near Parade Ground at around 2:30pm after dousing himself in petrol. According to report he told a traffic policeman present there that he was going to set himself on fire due to continued joblessness and inability to feed his family, including two children.
As per reports, when the man started running towards D-Chowk, the traffic cop sought help from the officials of reserve police deployed at the Parade Ground for security, but moments later the man set himself ablaze. Before the policemen could put out the flames, he was burnt completely. Three policemen also sustained minor burn injuries while trying to save him. He was rushed to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) where he succumbed to his injuries.
Rind was carrying a plastic bag which contained his computerised national identity card, a cellphone, two pairs of shalwar qamiz and a handwritten suicide note.
