Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has greeted the Hindus on the occasion of Deewali being celebrated and called for strengthening interfaith harmony and protecting minorities’ rights.
President said in his message that he wish to extend on my behalf and on behalf of the people of Pakistan the heartiest greetings to the Hindu and Scheduled Castes community on the occasion of Deewali.
Let us rededicate ourselves to continually striving in the path of good and noble. Let us also remember that there are always others less fortunate than us, he said.
We partake in Deewali celebrations also for promoting interfaith harmony as a means to fight religious apartheid and those who seek to impose their ideological agenda on the people, the President said.
