Islamabad: A recent survey has revealed that eight percent of households in Pakistan suspect someone in the family suffered from Dengue virus.
In a survey carried out by Gilani Research Foundation, a nationally representative sample of men and women were asked the following question “Has anyone got ill in your vicinity due to Dengue virus?” Responding to this, 29 percent of people say that someone in their vicinity got ill due to Dengue virus whereas 59 percent do not report any such incident. However 12 percent did not give a view.
In a similar question asked “Has anyone in your family God forbid got ill from dengue virus?”, responding to this, 8 percent report that someone in their family got affected by the Dengue virus whereas 85 percent do not report any such case. However 7 percent did not give a view.
