Lahore: A student of Kinnaird College For Women was killed allegedly by his friend, who later committed suicide on the spot here on Monday.
Police said the incident took place outside the college when Shams ul Islam gunned down his friend Samar Wasti, a student of Kinnaird College. The reason behind the murder was not clear.
After the incident, people blocked the Jail road, causing suspension of traffic.
Police have started investigation into the murder.
Father of Samar Wasti is an assistant account officer in Pakistan Railways, hailing from Faisalabad, Samar was living in her aunty’s residence in Lahore.
Shams ul alam wanted to marry Samar and after rejection he killed the girl.
Students of the college told The News Tribe correspondent that Shams and Samar was talking to each other before the incident.
“The college will remain closed on October 18 due to sad incident of our young student being murderd on October 17. The faculty, staff and student body feel sorry for the irreparable loss and pray to god that he may give courage to the bereaved family” Kinnaird College principle Dr. Rukhsana David announced very after the incident of killing took place.
