Peshawar: A low intensity earthquake measuring 3.2 on Richter scale hit Pakistan’s northern area on Saturday night.
According to media reports, the tremors were felt in Batagram, Walai, Thakot, Wadi Konsha and Wadi Saran, but no casualties or damages were reported.
The epicenter of the quake was monitored 55 kilometer away from Mansehra district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a depth of 10 kilometers.
A 7.6 magnitude earthquake had devastated northern Pakistan and parts of Kashmir on October 8, 2005, killing tens of thousands of people and damaging infrastructure worth billions of dollars.
Six years later, a large number of people hit by that earthquake remain away from a normal life.
