Australian top order remained largely unimpressive and it was skipper Cameron White and debutant Mitchelle Marsh who took them to a respectable total by scoring 39 and 36 runs, respectively. Shaun Marsh scored 26.
Tsotsobe, Morney Morkel and Theron took two wickets each. Botha got one.
In reply, South Africa lost captain Hashim Amla in the first over.
Australia won the first match by five wickets.
