Lahore: The newly appointed Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Zaka Ashraf has said that only performing players would remain in the national side.
Talking to Geo Super, a private Pakistani sports channel, on Tuesday, Ashraf said all the decisions would be made on merit. He said bringing international cricket back to Pakistan was a big challenge.
He said grouping and lobbying in Pakistan cricket would be eliminated.
The PCB chairman said that corruption and scandals had severely damaged Pakistan cricket.
When asked a question about the inclusion of senior players in the team, he said it was not the real issue. “The real issue is that we win.”
He further said foolproof security would be provided to the visiting sides.
