Baghdad: A series of explosions in western Baghdad killed at least 10 people, including a security official on Monday evening, officials said.
The first was a roadside bomb, which targeted an Iraqi army patrol, a police official said. Minutes later, a second bomb exploded nearby, targeting a passing police patrol.
The third explosion occurred when fire tenders reached the spot to extinguish the fire, an official said.
He said at least 21 people were also wounded in the attacks. A hospital official confirmed the casualties.
The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
