Karachi: Renowned Pakistan journalist and anchor person Kamran Khan has said on Thursday that naming Jamat-e-Islami among the groups involved in extortion by the Supreme Court of Pakistan is inappropriate.
Commenting on the SC verdict given earlier in the day about target killing and extortion, he said that he had never hared or seen anybody alleging JI of extorting money. He said it was his personal experience that JI was not an extortionist party.
Talking to Hamid Mir, who was present outside the court room, he said SC had only quoted statements given to it and therefore JI’s name was included.
It did not mean that the SC declared JI as extortionist, he added.
He also repeated these views in his live show ‘Aaj Kamran Khan Kay Sath’ in the evening. Â
