Lahore: A petition challenging death sentence of Mumtaz Qadri, assassin of former Punjab governor Salman Taseer, was filed in the Lahore High Court here on Thursday.
An anti-terrorism court judge Pervez Ali Shah awarded two times death penalty and fine up to 200,000,to Qadri in the case on Oct 1st.
The hearing into the Taseer’s murder was conducted in the special court set up in the Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.
Religious parties have announced country wide protest and strike against the death sentence on Friday.
