When Habib Wali Mohammad sang the song “Aaj janay ki zid na kro, younhi pehlu mei baithay raho”, no one, not even I could’ve ever thought of making it a perfect fit on present Pak-US strained relations.
On one hand where US is planning to have a graceful exit from Afghanistan but on the other hand groups fighting in plus pressures, accusations and double game against Pakistan and its intelligence agencies are making the exit difficult day by day.
No doubt, the world after 9/11 changed, where being a Muslim means you have to be on the back foot, giving all sorts of explanations like ‘A true Muslim can never become a terrorist, just like black cannot be white’.
Muslims condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestation.Indeed it become a changed world as US unleashed a series of wars against Muslim countries in the name of War against Terrorism, killing and destroying everything that comes in its way, sanctioning them and capturing their resources.Surely it is a changed world, where US is being visualized as a Bully by its Muslim friendly countries and the public sentiments against American governments soar up with every passing day but now it’s also a changed world for US too with economy collapsing and the loosing trust of its own people.Richard Nixon once said that ‘You might survive as a foe of US, but you cannot as a friend’.
So true as we look at the war history of US as to how it stampede on all those who were once a friend with this nation’s regime; then on the other hand we have the example of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela and now Turkey being added to the list who are progressing out of their sheer competency and defiance.
Pakistan becomes the frontline state in American war against terrorism because not only that we were left with no other option but we believe in humanity, which is the lesson given to us by Islam, but what we got in return was more horrifying than the 9/11 combined, more than 35,000 including Benazir Bhutto lost lives with still the pressure of ‘Do More’.
It is evident now that Pakistan which is the frontline state and an ally of US was being bullied by its ‘American friend’ in the worst ever form. So the public cry is ‘No More’.
And now it is made clear by Pakistan’s government that it won’t take any dictation from any country to do more. It is time to reset and redefine the relations between the two countries. It’s a fact that we do not want to escalate the situation and we cannot fight US might militarily, but now we are in a position to reply back by mere strategy and planning.
Today we proved that we can do it by having all the Political parties, Army and intelligence agencies getting together at APC on one point ‘No comprise on the sovereignty of Pakistan, we’ll stand side by side to one another when it comes to Pakistan’s security.
The US government is in full panic mood as the war between ISI and CIA is being taken to new levels, the vulnerabilities and weaknesses of US are now fully exposed both inside Afghanistan and within the mainland US.
The Americans know very well that there are tough times for their diplomacy with Pakistan as their entire war in Afghanistan could face a total and complete collapse, whether Pakistan simply decides to choke the NATO supplies when the resistance in Afghanistan geared up to the extent that Taliban perhaps used SAMs to knock down US chopper killing all the special elite force on board or Pakistan can make thing extremely dangerous for US by making them stay in the region for much longer period than intended by US Hawks, with the crippled economy and forced downsizing of military expenditure. It won’t be able to sustain even its own existence; Yes, you have read it right; US is in danger of losing its mere existence because of above mentioned facts.
Many people are of the opinion that US do not want to leave Afghanistan, I do not agree with the assumption as I am sure that US with a crippled economy back home and Taliban occupying more than 70% of Afghanistan with even Kabul’s green zone not being spared by their attacks. More over Haqqani network’s complete hold of four provinces and almost in other three, US is in such a hurry to leave Afghanistan that even their Chief of Army Staff Mike Mullen has lost his senses and started accusing Pakistan intelligence agencies for the failures, just like a boy who complains that he lost the race because the other boy was running fast.
I am sure if we let US leave now it will give US hawks the time to regroup and gather all their energies and strategies to bully not only Pakistan again but also other countries; one should not forget that railing and derailing the democracies, strengthening hands of dictators and disposing them off as tissue papers, after their worth is lost, are the trade mark of American policies.
As it is said “Everything is fair in love and war” but for US it is “Everything is unfair in love & war”, so I think it’s time to give them a taste of their own medicine. As far as Haqqani’s network is concerned, they were the freedom fighters of US against Russian invasion but now when they are fighting against American invasion they are Axis of Evil for US, same was the case with Osama bin Laden.
Similarly when they lost in Vietnam they blamed Cambodia for their defeat, it seems like there is a flaw in psychology of US Hawks every time they need someone as escape goat to blame their failures.
It’s high time for US government to look into their vulnerabilities and weaknesses in their own system. I can see Hawks in CIA ruining their own nation. Are they doing it purposefully or they are quite in competent? These are the questions which the US government have to find out the answers itself if they want to survive as a single country otherwise any sane person sees another USSR being disintegrated into smaller entities because as it is said “What goes round, Comes round”.
