Peshawar: At least 34 labourers have been kidnapped from Khyber Tribal region, news agencies reported on Friday.
Political administration confirmed the incident and said that it took place in Kala Khel area of Bara subdivision in Khyber Agency where unknown armed men held hostage 30 miners and others labourers and set all their equipment on fire and kidnapped them.
The authorities said that abductees belonged to Swat and others areas, adding that efforts were being put in place for the recovery of the labourors.
Local sources told The News Tribe that gunshots were also heard from the area during the episode. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction of the labourers.
Militant kidnapped more than a dozen miners from the same area and set them free after taking ransom last month.
