Kabul: Three US-led NATO servicemen were killed in a roadside bomb blast in southern Afghanistan on Thursday.
The US-led Western military alliance did not disclose further details about the deaths of the three NATO troops. More than 450 international service members have been killed in Afghanistan so far in this year.
Meanwhile a bomb targeting Afghan policewomen killed three people in the west, Afghan officials said.
The bomb targeting the policewomen was planted on a motorbike parked on a road leading to the airport in Herat, said a police commander Sayd Sharif Mohammadi. When five Afghan policewomen rode by in their vehicle, the remote-controlled device was detonated, killing one policewoman and two civilians.
Mohammadi said the explosion also wounded 10 people – the other four female police officers riding in the police vehicle, its driver and five civilians who were near the blast.
