Islamabad: A large number of people took out a rally and marched towards United States consulate, demanding the Americans to withdraw from their allegations against Pakistan.
The rally was led by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders Uzair Jan Baloch and Zafar Baloch. Most of the participants of the rally was from Lyari area of the metropolis, a stronghold of the ruling PPP.
The protesters holding national flags and placards in their hands were chanting slogans against the US for hurling serious allegations against Pakistan and its premier spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The participants including a significant number of women and children marched towards the American consulate.
Strict security arrangements were made outside the consulate in order to avoid any untoward incident.
Main roads leading towards the consulate were blocked by erecting containers.
Police officers held negotiations with the PPP leaders to end their protest.
