Karachi: Law enforcement agencies have arrested 19 suspects including eight alleged target killers and recovered a huge cache of weapons in late actions carried out in Karachi, the financial hub of Pakistan.
According to the correspondent of independent UK-based news website, The News Tribe, the rangers and police carried out a joint operation in Sindh Hotel at Liaquatabad, Shareefabad, and Al-Azam Square areas and arrested three suspects.
Whereas as, four suspects rounded up at Pak Colony, two from Sohrab Goth and Landhi each while one suspect was arrested from Quaid e Azam Colony in Mubina Town area.
Police sources said that a target killer identified as Zafar alias Andha (blind) along with five people were caught after an encounter at Al Falah and Saudabad in Malir area, adding that, one target killer Sohail Ali was also arrested along with others from Pak Colony who admitted to have killed the four people including two workers of Peoples Party.
Police informed that the target killer Zafar alias Andha would be handed to Joint Interrogation Team (JIT) for further investigation.
Sources said a large contingent of Rangers and police commandoes were taking part in search operations which were being carried out by house to house in some areas
