Lahore: Two flights of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) were forced to make emergency landing after information about bombs in the planes was received.
A PIA spokesman said that information about bomb had forced the UK- bound PK 709 to make emergency landing at the Istanbul Airport. Its 378 passengers and crew were evacuated. Later the bomb disposal squad declared the aircraft safe.
The PIA plane was flying from Lahore to Manchester.
Sniffer dogs were also used to hunt the plane for explosives.
A second PIA flight PK 898 carrying 176 passengers and crew made emergency landing in Kuala Lumpur following threats received by PIA.
The plane has been evacuated and a search for explosives is under way.
