Karachi: Former Sindh senior minister Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza has categorically rejected the security assurance given by Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, saying he does not want Malik’s security.
While responding over Malik’s statement, he said that he had arrested target killers belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) but Malik released them. He also said he stands by his statements that he arrested MQM’s target killers.
The former senior minister said that he wanted to inform Pakistan’s main intelligence agency – Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) – that he had arrested MQM’s target killers. “If MQM wants to stop my voice then shoot me”, he added.
He asked Pakistan’s military chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani that should the target killings of innocent people not be stopped. He claimed the Chief Justice had taken suo motu notice on his appeal.
Mirza said the federal interior minister told him that “if you arrest MQM’s target killers then our government will be finished”.
He said that Malik told him that if they – government – tried to catch target killers then ISI and military would finish our rule.
He added that Malik went to the Mardan House to make Shahi Syed – President Awami National Party Sindh – fool. He also said that Malik was also misguiding President Asif Ali Zardari.
