Quetta: At least 13 people were killed and 35 others injured in an explosion which ripped through Quetta, capital city of the southwest province of Pakistan, soon after congregations of Eid prayers in the city, securing officials stated.
Chief Capital Police Officer Quetta claimed that explosion was an attempt of suicide attack. “Strict security measures in the area forced suicide bomber to explode the explosive laden car around 25-yards from Imam Bargah.”
Shiite organizations inlcuding Tahaffuz Azzadari Council and Majlis Wahdat e Muslimeen have announced 7-day and 10-day mourn respectively.

According to officials, Gulistan Road of the provincial capital was targeted in the explosion and several people have been injured in the incident. Explosive stuff was planted in a car standing on a road, they added.
The injured also include women and children which were rushed to the hospitals for medical treatment.
A house was damaged badly while around two dozens of cars destroyed in the explosion, eyewitnesses said. An Imam Bargah, mosque of Shia sect, is located near the spot.
According to bomb disposal squad, a hand grenade was found near the incident spot while area around was being searched for more explosive material.
Meanwhile Interior Minister Rehman Malik has expressed that Baloch Liberation Army could be behind this incident.
Terming this act as totally unIslamic on eve of Eid, the federal minister said that banned outfits like Lashkar e Jhangvi and others were creating unrest in the province.
